Frequently asked questions
Everything owners ask us before a Manhattan kitchen, bathroom or full apartment renovation.
Your questions, answered
Do you handle permits and co-op or condo board approvals in Manhattan?
Yes. We prepare the alteration package, carry the $5M insurance coverage boards ask for, file the NYC Department of Buildings paperwork, schedule inspections and deal with building management directly, so you only make design decisions.
Are you a licensed and insured general contractor?
Yes. Home Design & Co is a licensed, fully insured general contractor in New York City with $5 million in insurance coverage.
Do you only remodel kitchens and bathrooms?
No. Kitchens and bathrooms are the most common projects, but we also renovate and redesign whole apartments, including full gut renovations, layout changes and finish work for co-ops, condos and townhouses.
What happens at the free in-home consultation?
We visit your home, measure the space and listen to your goals. You then receive a 3D design and a fully itemized estimate that explains each cost and stage before anything is built.
How is the estimate presented?
Every estimate is itemized line by line and explained up front, so the number you approve is the number you pay.
Which Manhattan neighborhoods do you serve?
We work across Manhattan, including the Upper East Side, Upper West Side, Lenox Hill, Carnegie Hill, the Gold Coast, Lincoln Square, Central Park West, the West Village, Gramercy, Chelsea, Tribeca and SoHo.
